Dr. Kwan Lee Jakobsen is Westbury Total Health Care's Medical Director who is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. As our clinic's Medical Director, she is one of the first members of our medical team who will evaluate the patient and supervise their care with other medical specialists if needed. Her expertise in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation allows her to use specific tools in treating neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, such as nerve conduction velocities and electromyography. These studies help determine the exact origin and extent of damage which has occurred. Once this has been established the patient can progress to specific goals, restoring as much function as possible. Dr. Jakobsen received her D.O. degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 with honors and trained as an intern in Internal Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital.
